What the record says
- Product
- AKASOL GEN 3 BATTERY - Recall 25E035000
- Reason
- BorgWarner has submitted a Defect Information Report based upon recall determinations made by Volvo (recall 25V055), Mack Trucks (recall 25V185), Nova Bus (recall 25V184), Cummins (recall 25E018), and Gillig (recall 25V203). Loose hardware inside the battery may detach, causing the battery pack to short circuit and fail. Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a battery short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
