What the record says
- Product
- PILOTCAR PC-2 (2022) - Recall 23V832000
- Reason
- The Pilotcar EV INC (Pilotcar) is recalling certain 2021-2023 PC-2, PC-4, and PC-6 low speed electric vehicles. The pedestrian warning sound system was not installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles" and 500, "Low Speed Vehicles." A vehicle that does not make warning sounds cannot alert pedestrians to the approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
