The display (DCSD) contains a microprocessor with a software error and an improper voltage regulator connection, which may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. As such, this equipment fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
