The zinc-plating on the fuel return line may break away when contacted by road debris, causing two dissimilar metals on the fuel line to contact each other and corrode. A corroded fuel line can leak fuel and increase the risk of a fire.

Dealers will replace the fuel return lines, free of charge. Interim owner notifications, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed in August 2022.
