As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 125, "Warning Devices." The false warning light could prevent the detection of an actual light failure, reducing visibility to other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash.
